Jumping & Eventing

Since I was 12, Jumping has always been my favourite part of the equestrian sport. Whether it's Show Jumping, Cross Country, Show Hunter or Round the Ring, I love it all. It was only when I was 15 that I really began to get serious about Eventing. Nothing else could possibly scare and excite me so much at the same time, and I love that about it. Ever since then, I have attended every Horse Trial and ODE that I possibly could. Because of this, I have had to really focus on both the dressage and jumping phases and have improved a lot in both of these as a result.

In 2013, I decided to have a go at Show Hunter also. I ended up qualifying for the Tauranga Team to attend Pony Club Show Hunter Champs. Here I finished just out of the top 10, out of a class on 45 riders. In this time, I greatly increased my knowledge of this discipline.

Eventing has been my main focus over the previous few years. I have qualified for Timberlands (Pony Club North Island Eventing Champs) however could not compete due to injury. I have also finished in the top 10 in nearly all the events I have competed in over the last two seasons. This includes a young horse who - at her second ever eventing start - ended up 5th at Pre Training level, in a class of 35. At the NISS Te Teko Gamblers, I recieved the highest amount of points, putting me in 1st place after cross country, however I couldn't continue competing due to my horse sustaining an injury over the last fence.

Although Show Jumping hasn't been a major focus of mine as an individual discipline, I am consistantly going clear in the Show Jumping phase at horse trials, on both young and experienced horses. I have also done a bit of Pony Club Show Jumping days with younger horses, and all have placed at these events.
