In the past, Dressage was never my best discipline nor was it my favourite. In the previous few years, I have worked very hard to change this and become a better all round rider. I attended so many lessons that I lost count of how many I would have in a single month! Ever since then, I have really begun to enjoy dressage and flat work and have started to get the results to prove it.

 

At the Tauranga Pony Club Dressage Champs I achieved a 1st and two 4ths in my level 2 tests. I also achieved 2nds and 3rds at the North Island Secondary School Dressage Championships. More recently, I attended the local A&P show, on one of my young horses. This was her first ever show after coming off the track. Here we placed in every class including multiple first places and Reserve Champion. 

My dressage scores have also increased at horse trials and ODEs. I am now consistently placing at least in the top half of the class but in most cases, in the top 10. 

 

I believe that Dressage and Flat Work schooling is so important in ensuring a successful career in any discipline! Having good foundations in place will certainly help you further in reaching your goals, whether they be in Dressage, Show Jumping, Show Hunter, Eventing or whatever your passion is!
